EARLY PEOPLE

VINTAGE RUGS

Cara and Claire two high vibing wanderlust friends that met in Morocco five years ago whilst teaching yoga and surfing right handers. They naturally fell in love with all the artisan products on offer in a country so full of mystery and history. Over the years they have established solid relationships with their suppliers and have great foundations with artisans in a variety of handmade homeware.

The vintage rugs in Early People collections were handwoven by Berber women and are often circa 1960s to 1990s. Over the years they have been enjoyed in a Berber family home and were originally created to celebrate births and weddings. They are valuable pieces of feminine art that hold magical tales of the weaver. The weaver used symbols to express her story, secrets, hopes and dreams. The Early People contemporary pieces are created using handmaking skills that have been passed down through generations.
