EARLY PEOPLE RUG CARE, SHIPPING AND RETURNS

Early People rugs are shipped from Morocco.

Please allow up to 3 weeks maximum for delivery to allow Early Peopl the time to properly package and dispatch your item, although most deliveries will arrive within 2 weeks. Once your package is dispatched we will give you the shipping number so you can check your delivery status.

CUSTOM TAXES

Import duties may be payable at the receiving end depending on your country - we recommend that you ask the custom services of your country before purchasing. Customers in the USA will not have to pay for additional custom taxes, as there is a free trade agreement between the USA and Morocco.

Some countries it is not possible to ship to from Morocco. Please just get in touch and we can confirm this for you.

RETURNS

All sales are final on rugs and we do not accept returns, unless items have been damaged in transit. Early People select all the rugs very carefully in Morocco. Due to the handmade and unique nature of each item, there may be some irregularities in shapes and colour. Signs of wear and age must be expected in vintage rugs - any imperfection is a part of the unique history and adds to the charm, beauty and value.

VINTAGE RUG CARE PRIOR TO SHIPPING

Our washing and restorations

Early People rugs are hand washed, reviewed and repaired if necessary, before being shipped out from Morocco to their new home. If restorations are required they are done by hand by their skilled Rug Doctor.

CARING FOR YOUR VINTAGE RUG

We recommend vacuuming and shaking out your vintage rug regularly to get rid of any loose dirt. Please only spot clean your rug with mild soapy water and avoid chemical cleaners. Air your rug and freshen it up by hanging it in the sunshine.

If you would like to get your rug professionally cleaned locally to you, please go for an option using no chemicals or harsh detergents.

The wool colour in vintage rugs was achieved using natural dyes. The colour is colour fast but will naturally fade with wear and in direct sunlight. Please consider this when positioning the rug in your home and rotate it occasionally. Rotating the rug will also help to preserve the condition and minimise wear patterns.
